In Massachusetts, over 1 million people voted not to lower their tax rate. These were mostly liberal Democrats who wanted to keep the higher rates as it would, in their minds, fund the programs they hold dearly to their hearts.
In total, the voters didn't agree and the rates were cut. But taxpayers, when filing, could choose to pay the higher rate. Of the 1 million plus people that voted to keep the higher rates, 624 chose to pay the higher rate. That's right, 624. Hypocrites.
John Kerry campaigns to remove tax cuts to support social programs, but when given the chance to pay that higher tax rate in Massachusetts this year, he took the lower. On over $395,000.00 gross income, he would have paid roughly $2100 more. Hypocrite.
